AvaTrade Code 128979: What Actually Happens When You Use It

Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Same question every time: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?

Short answer: no. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code won't affect it.

Code 128979 unlocks the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. That's all it does.

What's the bonus amount?

$1,000 deposit adds $200.

$2,000 gets you $400.

Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.

Top tier is $14,000 on deposits over $100,000. That's for serious capital.

UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Top tier reaches £11,200.

Minimum to open an account is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.

Where to enter the code

During registration. Once you've filled in your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. The field expands. Type **128979**.

Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.

If you see an error, it's fine. Complete your registration. Message your account manager before you deposit. Ask them to add code 128979. They do this manually all the time.

You can't withdraw the bonus straight away

A trading volume condition applies.

Roughly 10,000 units traded per $1 bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units to unlock a $200 bonus. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.

Your own money stays yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.

One thing worth knowing: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
